I recently crafted up this fabric planter bag for Winkelen Magazine – a lovely Australian digital mag which launched earlier this year and is full to the brim of gorgeous style for your interiors. I was inspired by the canvas bags I’ve seen around in shops at the moment and have been wanting to have a try at making my own for a while now with some left over fabric I had from Ikea. Really excited with the end result – it has pride of place in my living room and is probably going to have a few lil brothers and sisters shortly!

The process is so super simple,  it’s basically like sewing a rectangle then rolling the top down. Easy peasy yo! Come check out the full tutorial in the July issue of Winkelen here

thanks Stephanie! It’s actually not the plant I intended on buying on the day but actually worked out even better. Love it when that happens 😉 Let me know if you give the planter bag a go x

Could you just use a heavy interfacing and a laminated fabric for the line rfabric instead of the foam to help hold up the fabric? Would it be strong enough?
