Following their Melbourne event last month, Unleash Creative held their crafty event in Sydney recently. I was meant to pop along but couldn’t make it at the last minute (crushed!) so my good friend Rachel went along instead and showered me with stories of happy craft time.
Crafters were able to make 4 projects, as helped by the 4 talented mentors – Kirbee Lawler of Kirbeeart, Rin of Papered Thoughts, Alex Falkiner of Alfalky and Madeleine of Made by Mosey. At 4 different posts they played around with making an illustrated paper dear, material rope making (all done by just twisting some material, great idea for a necklace etc), back to basics with paper and love letters (hello copious amounts of confetti and washi tape!) and a very cute cross stitch feather.
“The snacks, venue and decorations were such a happy sensory explosion, every detail was so creatively put together!” Rach says. Not to mention she got away with one mighty fine looking goodie bag. Sounds like a great excuse to get away from the computer. I can’t wait til they bring another round of workshops this way soon.
Brisbane folk – they are coming your way 24th of May so head over here to reserve a ticket if you feel like getting your craft on for a day – www.unleashcreative.com.au
